Patty Wooters
Patty is the owner, main instructor and trainer at Longview Stables. Patty was born horse crazy in a family that had no history with horses. Patty began taking riding lessons from a lady name Nelly, who had spent her riding career with American saddlebred horses. This was where Patty first learned of the breed. Her father bought her her first horse which lead her to joining the Colorado Caballero Saddle Club where she began competing in speed events. Along with Patty Western lessons from Quarter Horse trainers she also took Hunter Jumper lessons. Then, Patty rode a 5-gaited American Saddlebred, and was hooked. Since riding that American Saddlebred, she took a change of pace in the horse world. She was enthrawled with saddle seat riding and this fancy going, powerful breed of horse. Patty then decided that this was where her heart lied. She opened Longview Stables in 1978, where she offered riding lessons, boarding and training. Her background in the other styles of riding helped to increase her expertise in Saddle Seat. She has trained World Champion and Reserve World Champion Riders and Show Horses.
Kayla Wooters
Kayla is an instructor and assistant trainer at Longview Stables. Kayla was in her first horse show when she was 3 years old. Patty had her in the Saddle from the moment she was born. Patty’s dedication towards her daughters riding career paid off, when Kayla made her 1st World’s Champion Victory pass in Louisiville, Kentucky. Kayla graduated from Colorado State University after studying abroad in Italy. She couldn’t wait to get home, back to her passion, the horses. Kayla is currently the Chapter Chairperson for UPHA Chapter 19, devoted to promoting the American Saddlebred while Uniting Professional Horseman.
